Letting You Become Part of the Process!

As most of you know journalists bring the world into your living room. Unfortunately common people aren't usually a part of this process. Today I, Simon Simpson, am giving you that oppertunity! I recently discovered this site and am thinking of writing up a story on it. What you get to do is give me your comments on the site and how you feel it affects you as a person and democracy as a whole. Your comments will become part of an actual news story that will be published by a major media outlet! Just think of what your friends will say!

Thanks for your input!

I think that, unfortunately, as a whole, the American public is grossly uninformed about the political process. On the one hand, this is a tremendous asset to those in power: fighting the apathetic public is much easier than fighting a bunch of zealots. But on the other hand, it makes it much easier for legislative power to be abused.

The lack of consistency among major media outlets is also distressing and it forces the average person to do a lot more work than he should have to just to get an accurate representation of world events. Perhaps this is the driving force behind the apathy we observe toward the political process.

Either way, watching a variety of blogs (such as this one) is a good way to obtain a well rounded view of current events in the world.
